Principles of admission

The principles of admission:

1. according to a decision of the Warsaw Management University Rector

According to the Rector’s decision foreigners can study:

  • If they issue payments, or
  • Without payments or scholarship, or
  • As scholars of the sending party without paying, or
  • As the Warsaw Management University’s scholars.

In principle, foreigners are admitted to the University with the obligation of issuing payments.

The amount and dates of payments are regulated by the Chancellor.

 

2. the principles of Polish citizens’ admissions

Foreigners who can study on the same principles as Polish citizens are:

  • foreigners who were granted the residence permit,
  • foreigners who have a valid refugee status granted in Poland,
  • foreigners who were granted temporary protected status in Poland,
  • are migrant employees and have a citizenship of a member state of the European Union, Switzerland or a member state of EFTA – parties of the agreement on European Economic Area or are members of such a person’s family, if s/he lives on the territory of Poland,
  • foreigners who have the European Community long-term residence permit in Poland,
  • foreigners who have a temporary residence permit issued on the territory of Poland that is connected with the art. 53 section 1 points 7, 13 and 14 of the Act on Foreigners of 13th of June 2003 Journal of Laws no 128 , pos. 1175 with later amendments),
  • foreigners who use subsidiary protection on the territory of the Republic of Poland,
  • foreigners who have citizenship of a member state of the European Union, a member state of EFTA, EEA or Switzerland or a member of his/her family who has the permanent residence.

 

NOTE:

Those who have more than one citizenship, including the Polish one, can study at the University only in accordance with the same principles that apply to Polish citizens.

Owners of the Polish Card can study at the University in accordance with the principles that apply to Polish citizens or other priniples applying to foreigners. In this case the choice of a recruitment path is up to the foreigner, but the decision must be made before applying for studies.

The citizens of member states of the European Union, member states of EFTA, EEA, Switzerland or the members of their families who have financial means necessary to cover the costs of living during the studies, can study in accordance with the same principles as Polish citizens (they cannot, however, apply for social scholarship, a special scholarship for the disabled or grants) or in accordance with the principles different than Polish citizens.

 

Foreigners who apply to study at the Warsaw Management University in accordance with the principles that apply to Polish citizens are accepted to a specific faculty and academic year. They undergo the same procedure as Polish citizens that are specified in the act of the Warsaw Management University Senate on the “Regulations of admissions to the studies at the Warsaw Management University” in a given academic year provided that they meet the requirements specified in the acts of law, among other concerning validation of foreign studies and degrees and other required documents (passport and visa or a card of residence or another document entitling to residing in Poland, insurance policy for the sickness of accidents for the time of studying in Poland or the European Health Insurance Card or are insured in the National Health Fund immediately after starting the studies and a document proving their good health condition, a doctor note that shows no contraindications to study a selected faculty. 

3. in accordance with the decision of the Higher Education Minister

Foreigners can study in Poland in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Science and Higher Education on allowing a foreigner to study on a specific university that says that s/he is admitted:

  • with the fee, or
  • without the fee or scholarship, or
  • as a Polish side’s scholar, (Polish government’s scholar), or
  • as a sending side’s scholar, without the fee.

Foreigners can study in accordance with the principles of international acts as:

  • Polish side’s scholars,
  • With the fees, or
  • Without fees and scholarship, or
  • As the scholars of the sending side without the fees, or
  • As the University’s scholars.

5. in accordance with the acts of the University with foreign entities

Foreigners can study in accordance with the acts of the University with foreign entities:

  • With the fees, or
  • Without fees and scholarship, or
  • As the scholars of the sending side without the fees, or
  • As the University’s scholars.

The way in which the studies are financed is established by a proper act.
